On Monday, December 4, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with a delegation of Philippine labor leaders to discuss President Biden’s recent Presidential Memorandum to advance workers’ rights globally and the importance of freedom of association and collective bargaining in promoting of sustainable economic growth and strong democratic societies. National Security Advisor Sullivan reiterated the Biden Administration’s commitment to support the efforts of workers in the United States and abroad to form unions, and condemned all forms of harassment, intimidation, and violence against workers and advocates for exercising their fundamental rights.
