Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State
On behalf of the Government of the United States, I congratulate Panama on its 119th National Day.
Friendship and partnership are the pillars of the relations between Panama and the United States, founded on respect for democratic principles that shape both our countries. Panama has shown strong international leadership through its support for human rights, the rule of law, environmental conservation, sustainable and equitable prosperity, and democratic governance. We look forward to Panama’s upcoming leadership as President Pro Tempore of both the Comprehensive Regional Protection and Solutions Framework (MIRPS) and the Regional Conference on Migration in December 2022.
The United States looks forward to continuing our close cooperation with Panama on shared priorities including addressing regional migration; mitigating climate change; combatting money laundering and drug trafficking; and tackling corruption. The people of the United States wish Panamanians everywhere celebrating fiestas patrias a very happy 119th National Day.
