Tuesday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh argued that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s opposition to Nike’s so-called Betsy Ross footwear was proof Kaepernick’s kneeling was not about alleged police brutality but animosity toward the American flag.
During Thursday’s broadcast of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, host Joe Scarborough stood up for 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden for his remarks about working with segregationist senators. Biden was criticized by some of his Democratic presidential
On this weekend’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) offered a glimpse into President Donald Trump’s reaction to the findings in the Mueller report. Graham said Trump was pleased with the Mueller report and
Wednesday, MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough reacted to President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address, saying it made the president “look even more inept” and “lost.” According to Scarborough, Trump’s speech “converted no one” that did not already support him. “[I]t’s the same question we asked about Kirstjen Nielsen and the Department of Homeland Security. She’s already been out lying about crisis on the southern border of epic proportions. She’s twisted facts around. What happens if we have a real national emergency? Well, I think most Americans aren’t going to take her at her word because she’s been lying so much for this president over the past few months,” Scarborough outlined. “This is an address they could have delivered on Fox News prime time and he would have reached his same audience. He would have converted the same number of people, which is zero, because if they were watching him on Fox News, in prime time, chances are very good they’d already be on his side,” he continued. “But last night, he converted no one. Last night, he made himself look even more inept. Last night, he made himself look even more lost. There’s a new Reuters poll out today
Wednesday on ABC’s “The View,” co-host Joy Behar said President Donald Trump’s supporters did not care if he lied “right to their faces.” Behar said, “The thing that’s so appalling is that the lying continues and his base apparently still doesn’t care. I mean, the guy goes in front of a bunch of veterans and says you’re going to get a 10 percent raise when he knows that they’re only getting a 2.6 percent raise. He lies right to their faces and then he lies that Mexico is going to pay for the wall. If you recall, the former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, said Mexico is not going to pay for it. That was the tipping point for this whole thing. They will never pay for the wall.” She added, “He says every stupid thing and it doesn’t mean anything to his base.” Follow Pam Key on Twitter @pamkeyNEN
Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All In,” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said President Donald Trump removing Attorney General Jeff Sessions and appointing Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general was an attempt to stop special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe. Waters said, “This action by the president of the United States to fire him is directly connected to the investigation that is being led by Mueller. This president is interested in undermining that investigation. Stopping that investigation. He has threatened to fire him. Of course ,many of us have been opposed to Jeff Sessions for a lot of reasons—his racist background, et cetera, et cetera. But this president is focusing on him and firing him literally because I think he’s putting into action the plan by which to stop the investigation by putting Whitaker in as the acting attorney general. So we’re talking about a different situation here. But this is very dangerous.” She added, “I have always maintained that Donald Trump would never be presidential. I am not really shocked or surprised by anything that he may say or do. He has been absolutely outrageous in the way that he has called names, outrageous in the way that he has threatened, outrageous in the
